I am happy to have been selected to participate in this exhibition in honor of Serbian artist Milena Barilli

I am participating in this invitational exhibition in honor of Serbian artist Milena Pavlovic Barilli with one painting and one drawing.

Official opening is on November 5th, the birthday of the artist.
The exhibition will be opened by Dijana Metlic, art historian, Snezana Petrovic, artist and selector for this years event, and Vladimir Dunjic, artist who won the top prize last year.

Milena Pavlović Barili was one of the most prominent Serbian artists of the first half of 20th century. She was well acclaimed in artistic circles of Europe and USA.
The gallery houses nice selection of here works from all the periods of her short life including posters and covers she did for Vogue, Harpers Bazaar and other famous magazines and some of her personal belongings.
The gallery is open from 7 to 15h from Tue till Fri and from 8 to 16h on Sat.

I am participating with these two works - both completed in 2023 - a drawing and a acrylic painting

ATELIER FINE ART OPENING

On Saturday, October 7th 2023 my friend Artist Shahram Alizadeh opened his atelier for a group show of fantastic artists, where I had the opportunity to participate with some of my artwork. The display will be open-ended, that is, I can exchange my work with other pieces at any time. This is both Shahram's atelier as well as a showroom for his artist friends.

On Tiktok I made a vide from clips and photos that Shahram provided, adding special effects (and the 'obligatory selfie' at the end, which is a transition creation from Dreamwombo. The charcoal drawing of 'Nubian Kore' is not in the video, but it is displayed in the back room part, whereas the other two are in the front room.

200th anniversary issue of rue morgue magazine

I am stoked to have been featured in the
200th Anniversary Issue of RUE MORGUE MAGAZINE for May/June 2021

On June 16th I got a surprise in the mail. Back in February/March I was asked by British writer Rich Johnson (who also writes for Fangoria Magazine) if I would like to see my work published. We had some conversations via email, eventually I almost forgot about it. Then this package arrived, with two complimentary copies. Well written, it got down to the gist of what we talked about.

Изложба слика „Антилогика слике“ и промоција истоимене књиге (збирке приповедака) идејног творца сликара Славка Крунића, одржаће се у понедељак, 9. фебруара од 19 часова у Ликовном салону Културног центра Новог Сада.

The Exhibition "Antilogika Image" and the promotion of the book (collection of short stories) curated by painter Slavko Krunić, will be held on Monday, February 9th at 19:00 hr in the Art Salon of the Cultural Center of Novi Sad.

„Антилогика слике“- интеракција визуелног и писаног

Окосница прича у књизи су слике, али сагледане кроз хумор, иронију, гротеску, апсурд… Ово занимљива комбинација подразумева интеракцију слике и текста, па су стога разни писци позвани да напишу кратке приче „према мотивима“ слике неког од предвиђених уметника. По одабиру Крунића састављена је листа од 15 сликара, а по предлогу Мирјане Огњановић, направљена је листа писаца.

Након новосадског представљања слика и књиге, планиране су изложбе и промоције збирке приповедака у другим градовима Србије, као и у Словенији, Бугарској, Црној Гори и Италији.

- „Антилогика слике“ има сасвим посебан положај међу књигама. Она се данас јавља у нарочитој форми пинакобиблиотеке, тј. збирке коју сачињавају сликарска и прозна дела. Збирка обухвата, поред осталог, и врхунске домете цивилизације: сатиру, гротеску, иронију и апсурд, који су посредством једног „породичног споразума“ склопљеног са новим сувереном из династије Хум-ор, послужили за испитивање бескрајних веза ликовних и књижевних искустава – рекао је Славко Крунић.

The backbone of the story in the book are pictures, but perceived through humor, irony, grotesque, absurd ... This interesting combination of the interaction of image and text, and therefore various writers were invited to write a short story, "according to themes" pictures of some of the most anticipated artists. By choosing Krunić composed a list of 15 artists, a proposal by Mirjana Ognjanović developed a list of writers.

After presenting the Novi Sad pictures and books are planned exhibitions and promotions collection of short stories in other cities of Serbia, as well as in Slovenia, Bulgaria, Montenegro and Italy.

- "Antilogika image" has a very special position among the books. It is now common in the particular form pinakobiblioteke, ie. collection consisting of paintings and prose. The collection includes, among other things, the top reaches of civilization: the satire, the grotesque, irony and absurdity, which means a "family agreement" concluded with the new sovereign dynasty Hum-or, were used for testing the endless connection of art and literary experience - said Slavko Krunić.

THE LOST THING by Shaun Tan

THE LOST THING

The Lost Thing is a 2000 picture book, written and illustrated by Shaun Tan. Set in the near future, in dystopian Melbourne, Australia, The Lost Thing is a story about Shaun who enjoys collecting bottle tops for his bottle top collection. One day, while collecting bottle tops near a beach, he discovers a strange creature, that seems to be a combination of an industrial boiler, a crab, and an octopus. This creature is referred to as "The Lost Thing" by the narrator.

This book was adapted into a 15-minute animated short film in 2010, directed by Shaun Tan and Andrew Ruhemann and narrated by Tim Minchin. It won the Oscar for Best Animated Short. It was nominated for the 2011 Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation, Short Form.
