![]() Yesterday I received a Email from my POD Merchandise ART OF WHERE to inform me that the associated web page for my products will not be maintained anymore after April 2023. This announcement came via Mailchimp. It is a bit frustrating - on Facebook I wrote: According to the latest update from my AOW Print-on-Demand place, the store web page will no longer be maintained after April 2023. I would have to host my own store (pages?) on my own website, or else join Etsy or Shopify to offer my products via API from AOW. All rather complicated and time-consuming work to make those changes. This is frustrating. For anyone to check out within the next few weeks, here is my existing store on the AOW website that will be no more after a month (get it while it lasts - I will still be able to sell my creations, but have to make other arrangements): MY AOW STORE PAGE ART OF THE MYSTIC OTTO RAPP After some time of being idle, I just recently created a number of items so maybe check them out while my store page is still up. Still available to order from my store page until end of April.
âIt is possible, however, that the artist is both thin-skinned and prophetic and, like the canary lowered into the mine shaft to test the air, has caught a whiff of something lethal.â

I am honored to have one of my major drawings selected to be part of this large First Biennale of Fantastic Art in Serbia, (as one of two foreign guest artists, the other being Reinhard Schmid of Germany) to take place in Belgrade at the Kolarac gallery and later in Novi Sad at the Cultural center (where I exhibited before in a group show Antilogika Slike in 2015).
5 Years ago (2017) after I created this work at the Pigmalion Artist Colony - it is in the collection of the founder of Pigmalion, Gorazd Cuk who will lend it to this exhibition.

'Phoenix Collection MihajloviÄ'
'Phoenix Collection MihajloviÄ' is an imposing, family collection, lovingly selected authentic paintings and drawings, which in the right way represents the best contemporary artists in Serbia. It combines representative works of renowned artists of different generations and sensibilities, successors of cultural heritage - in favor of the traditional, fantastic but also out-of-appearance. The uniqueness of this collection, which includes over 140 oil paintings and more than 50 drawings, lies in the refined, careful selection of individual works, from the rich opuses of contemporary painters. âOn Instagram, the organization posted this about me â - it is Serbian, the full interview is above, translated to English âThe inaugural Exhibition in Belgrade was posted on Facebook
I've been on Instagram for a while now - probably not doing it right, since half the time I don't even add hash tags. Here I show some stuff of mine, posted/shared by others that I found and saved - it is nice to have at least a few fans on there .......
Flattering also that someone would take a posted selfie of mine and make a artwork out of it:
I am happy to have a fan like this - thank you Dack Oenemaus!
My friend Tea Slavica shared this studio shot of mine, as I was working on a drawing where I had used her as the model.
Another one I appreciate very much:
Lastly - I do enjoy the company of pretty ladies:

The Arts and Entertainment Center (CAE) was opened in 2002. Large cultural structure (2 200 and 800 seat auditoriums - outdoor amphitheater, foyer, breakout rooms, studios, 4 exhibition halls) was thought of as a centrality with European Community funds and its programming tends to go through major national and international shows and this structure is also linked to other programming centers and events, in an anchor logic that disperses without losing continuity.

I have been a member on Pinterest for several years now, and had created some boards that highlight not only my art, but also many different interests. The first board I published already in 2015 was "Fantastic Art by my Friends" - here I show you my artwork, posted on the board from a variety of sources, so you may find work that is not on my website here or otherwise easy to find.

I am currently in quarantine at home - playing with shots of unfinished projects from my studio - which I have not been to since March 10th, since it is way across town.
I wanted to lead this blog with a work of art, before we (and myself included) forget that I am foremost a artist. But these are strange times, and my attention is riveted on the current crisis of COVID-19. Everything is overshadowed by it - including my creativity, since being away from the studio. I am hoping to go there and resume work sometime after Easter, come hell or high water.

From the Guardian, a related article about air pollution:
Tue 17 Mar 2020 09.02 GMT - Last modified on Wed 18 Mar 2020 10.54 GMT Air pollution likely to increase coronavirus death rate, warn experts
The health damage inflicted on people by long-standing air pollution in cities is likely to increase the death rate from coronavirus infections, experts have said.
Dirty air is known to cause lung and heart damage and is responsible for at least 8m early deaths a year. This underlying health damage means respiratory infections, such as coronavirus, may well have a more serious impact on city dwellers and those exposed to toxic fumes, than on others. ...... COVID-19: Link with Air Pollution? Italy’s and China’s Experience Updated 9 April 2020
A new scientific study, just published in the United States, provides further proof that there may be a very real link between the speed of transmission and lethality of COVID-19 and air pollution. The study by researchers at the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health in Boston, analyzed air pollution and COVID-19 deaths up to 4 April in 3,000 counties in the United States, covering 98% of the population. “We found that an increase of only 1μg/m3 in PM2.5 [particles] is associated with a 15% increase in the COVID-19 death rate,” the team concluded.
To address COVID-19, it has become clear to the whole world that the Chinese model of testing strick social distancing is a must and that a full “lockdown” of the economy cannot be avoided – with only “essential” activities maintained. Italy was the first country to follow this Chinese model. Now, almost all countries have followed suit, including India with its 1.3 billion people told to stay home for 21 days – undoubtedly the largest quarantine operation in history. But there is another lesson from the Chinese and Italian experience that has emerged: the highly probable link between dirty air and level of lethality of COVID-19. ..................... READ MORE

The above is in German - too bad there are no English subtitles. The positions taken differ from the "officially sanctioned" media that dominates. In my opinion, what he says makes a lot of sense. I am looking forward to when we reflect back on this in, lets say, a year from now.
Tongue firmly planted into cheek, I now present to you a video that should make you think - you likely know it from civics class (unless you slept through it), but here it is to refresh your memory:
